Ultralite 3-A Plate Backers — UDPE Soft Armor Trauma Backers

Ultralite 3-A Plate Backers are high-performance UDPE (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene) soft armor panels engineered to sit directly behind a hard rifle plate. They reduce backface deformation, capture spall and fragmentation, and add NIJ Level III-A / HG2 handgun protection to any plate pocket.

Why a plate backer

• Backface signature reduction — dissipates the load a rifle round transfers through a hard plate.
• Spall and fragmentation capture — arrests jacket fragments and ceramic spall behind the strike face.
• Edge-to-edge III-A coverage — full handgun protection across the panel, including areas where ceramic strike-face coverage is smaller than the plate cut.
• Ultra-light — 7 mm thick, 1.1 lb per square foot.
