Ballistic Load Carriage Armor System (BALCS)

The BALCS (Ballistic Load Carriage Armor System) panel design was originally developed for the Eagle Industries Maritime and Land tactical armor systems. Due to its outstanding ergonomics and coverage, it has become one of the most widely adopted soft armor panel shapes in the industry.

Today, numerous armor carriers are designed around the BALCS profile, including those manufactured by Stealth Armor Systems.

Available Configurations

We manufacture two BALCS-compatible panel configurations:

• Eagle Industries Compatible — Designed to fit Eagle Industries carriers as well as the many manufacturers that have adopted the original BALCS profile.
• FirstSpear® Compatible — Designed specifically for FirstSpear® carriers and Stealth Armor Systems carriers built to the FirstSpear geometry. These panels are not interchangeable with standard Eagle/BALCS carriers.

Ultralite IIIA Specifications

Construction

Manufactured in the USA using 100% U.S.-converted Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) unidirectional composite. Each panel is enclosed in a durable 70-denier ripstop nylon shell with a urethane coating and fully heat-sealed seams to provide complete waterproof protection.

To ensure uninterrupted supply, Stealth Armor Systems reserves the right to provide either our Ultralite IIIA or GTX IIIA soft armor package based on material availability. Both products provide equivalent NIJ Level IIIA protection, comparable performance characteristics, and similar weight and pricing.
